My name is Jacco Paauw. Born in Brazil and raised in the Netherlands.

The idea of giving back to my country had been on my mind for a few years and became a reality during the coronavirus pandemic. The idea of starting a clothing line and donating to charity fizzled out after my eldest son arrived.

In February 2024, I traveled to Brazil and visited a favela called Manqueira in Rio de Janeiro. There, I visited the organization Estrela da Favela, which helps underprivileged children.

Estrela da Favela is a Brazilian-Dutch NGO that provides children aged 4 to 17 with education, sports, music, and essential life skills. They also pay special attention to girls, who are often overlooked in this macho-dominated society.

The idea for a clothing line with a donation to charity resurfaced, and Favela Soul Clothing was born. The clothing line consists of four T-shirts made of high-quality cotton. This beautiful oversized T-shirt is perfect for festivals and casual wear.

A portion of the proceeds from each T-shirt will be donated to Estrela Da Favela to give underprivileged children a future.

Favela Soul Mission

Favela Soul Clothing originated from deep roots in Brazil—a country full of energy, culture, and contrasts. During a visit to Estrela de Favela, a social project in one of the favelas called Mangueira, we saw firsthand how children grow up there: full of dreams, but often with limited resources. This experience deeply touched us and became the driving force behind this initiative.

Our mission is twofold:

🟢 On the one hand, we bring the soul and creativity of the favela to life through clothing and stories — as a source of pride, expression, and connection.
🟢 On the other hand, we are actively committed to the children of Estrela de Favela by raising awareness and providing direct support through our proceeds and partnerships.

Favela Soul Clothing is more than a brand—it's a bridge between worlds. A way to honor the culture from which it was born, and an opportunity to contribute to a better future for the youth growing up in Manqueira.
